Tips to reduce the risk of stomach pain
While Buscopan® may provide effective short-term relief from stomach ache, cramps and discomfort, there are ways to help reduce the degree of discomfort and help avoid stomach pain in the future.

Prevention is always better than cure. Here are some suggestions to help reduce the chances of stomach ache, cramps and discomfort.
  • Avoid stress, anxiety and tension
Slow down and take time in your day to unwind. Try to relax and in the process also relax your stomach muscles.
  • Exercise regularly
Try to go for a 20-30 minute walk each day or partake in some other exercises you enjoy. This will aid in digestion.
  • Chew food thoroughly and slowly
This will help your digestive system to break food down.
  • Reduce alcohol and coffee consumption
These can upset your digestive system. Unlike water, coffee and alcohol drain the body of fluids.
  • Eat more fibre
Foods high in fibre include vegetables, fruits, cereals and wholemeal bread. These also help promote regular bowel routines.
  • Eat less fatty foods
Limit takeaway and deep fried foods and choose lean cuts of meat to ensure your diet is rich in nutrients. Alternatives to fatty foods are easier to digest.
  • Drink plenty of fluid
Aim to drink at least 6-8 glasses of water a day to help promote a regular bowel routine.
